"What are the membership requirements?"
Interaxon is uniquely flexible in its demands on time so that students may volunteer as often as their schedules may allow. All contributions from members are welcomed and greatly appreciated! But as with any organization, we value and reward commitment. We ask that to remain active, members participate in at least two school-related events per year and attend 80% of the general board meetings. We also require dues each semester. which are $25 for new members and $20 for old members.
"WHEN ARE MEETINGS?"
We meet every Tuesday from 7-8 PM in THH 212.
"CAN NON-NEUROSCIENCE/SCIENCE MAJORS JOIN?"
Of course! While are predominantly science majors who share a passion for learning about the brain, we welcome all majors and interests. The material we teach is easy to master, and you will be armed with lesson plans and have rehearsals with experienced members. Enthusiasm is the only requirement!
"HOW CAN I BECOME MORE INVOLVED IN INTERAXON'S LEADERSHIP?"
Our Executive Board elections for the 2020-2021 school year take place in the Spring. Additionally, our E-Board meetings are open -- everyone is welcome to voice their ideas and help out. Email us for more information!
"I can't come to the general meetings. Can I still join?"
Yes! We will send out sign-ups for school visits via email and we will schedule times for people attending the school visits to meet outside the general meetings and help plan the lesson for a great school visit. As for our other events like Neurocamp, look for volunteer sign-up opportunities via email -- we always need volunteers to help out the week or day of the event!
